What is Cardinal Direct?

Cardinal Direct is SVSU’s web-based access to student and employee academic/financial/employment information and services. By using a web browser on any microcomputer connected to the web

Students can access:

• Online Registration
• Course Schedule Lookup
• Schedule of Classes
• Drop Classes
• Account Summary
• Make Payments
• Grades
• GPA
• Transcripts
• Financial Aid Award Letter
• Etc.

Faculty can view their schedule of classes, class rosters, etc.

Employees can view their payroll advice, SVSU position history and leave plan balances, if applicable, etc.

How do I access Cardinal Direct (Students)?

You will need your SVSU Username and Password. If you do not know your Username or Password, go to the Change Password page to lookup your Username and reset your password.

To access Cardinal Direct, use the button at the top of this page.

 

How do I access Cardinal Direct (Employees)?

Employees (who are not student employees) will receive email notification when their access to Cardinal Direct has been activated, after complying with FERPA requirements (For detailed information use the following links: faculty | staff).

To access Cardinal Direct, you need to:

Log into Cardinal Direct (use the button at the top of this page) with the same Username and Password as you use to login to your SVSU email account.

FERPA Overview:
Employees need to comply with FERPA requirements prior to being granted access to Cardinal Direct. See: http://www.svsu.edu/ecs/forms/ for FERPA forms and instructions. Within one day of the processing of your signed FERPA form, you should receive email notification of activation of your access to Cardinal Direct. Employees who are also an SVSU student will not receive an email as they already have access to Cardinal Direct. Employees may contact the Help Desk at 989-964-4225 or toll free at 1-866-827-4357 to verify if their FERPA form has been processed and if/when they should expect their email notification. If your FERPA form has not been processed, Adjuncts should contact the Registrar, all other employees should contact ECS for further information.

 

What if I have a problem accessing or using Cardinal Direct?

To resolve questions regarding the information displayed in Cardinal Direct or how to use a particular screen, users should select the HELP tab or FAQ tab and review the on-line documentation. For further clarification, users should contact the appropriate office as indicated in the HELP or FAQ document, such as:

Registration issues - Contact the Registrar's Office at 989-964-4085 during business hours, registrar@svsu.edu after business hours.
Payment issues - Contact the Cashiers Office at 989-964-7406 during business hours, cashiers@svsu.edu after business hours.
Account Balance issues - Contact Student Financial Services at 989-964-4210 during business hours, sfs@svsu.edu after business hours.
Financial Aid issues - Contact the Office of Financial Aid at 989-964-4103 during business hours, financial-aid@svsu.edu after business hours.

If users have difficulty accessing Cardinal Direct, they should contact the IT Services Support Center at 989-964-4225 or toll free at 1-866-827-4357 or support@svsu.edu.
